After your evaluation test you were assigned to a course. This is English in PhD 1. On this website you will find all the information, material and exercises that you need for your course. Do not forget to check the Diary to see what we do every lesson. The aim of the course is to give you the basics of grammar, pronunciation and structures so that you can understand written English better, are able to ask and answer questions better and can write short, comprehensible texts in English.

You have to be able to understand written English and answer questions. This is basic to your PhD course. There are videos and exercises to help you and dictations, listenings and structures to increase your vocabulary.

There will be active participation in all lessons. Participants are expected to read, ask and answer questions and do homework that will be corrected in the following lesson.

Final exam

There is no final exam for this course. However, there will be continuous assessment to make sure that you are making progress.
